Part 5 Setting up the loom 💫 Weaving 🧵🧶 Yes it has taken 5 parts to finally get to the weaving stage! So of course this is the fun part, seeing all the tarns coming together and for me the colour being added in the weft 😁 Weaving does take a long time too, of course, it takes me about an hour and half to weave 1m and it's quite hard work. The next part will show what happens to the fabric when I take it off the loom, cause it doesn't stop there 😁

Part 4 Setting up the loom 💫 Getting ready to weave 🧵 Yes, we are on part 4 and only just starting to weave! That's how long it can take to set up a loom and how many processes have to be done. But it's nice to get to this part and see it all set up and ready to go 😊 Also a little guest debut of my partner @matt__wadge 😁 he does a lot behind the scenes of AJW mostly driving me to markets 😁 so thank you!

THE NIKITA BAG 👜💫 This is where it all started, the first bag made for me by @handmadebynikita3 and now is named after the sewer herself 😊 I asked Nikita to make this bag for me after seeing one she had already made and I was so amazed by her talent! I think this bag is so practical and original in style 😁 Now Nikita makes 7 of my items! She is a sewing genius and I'm so grateful for her help 🧵😁 P.S Thank you to the lovely Leah for this photoshoot, I think these photos are great! And hopefully a Leah bag will be coming soon! 💫

ADELINA BAG 👜 Made my @khulelo herself 😊 I am so happy with this bag, I think it fills a gap in my collection of handbags. It's that little day bag where you don't want to carry too much, it can fit your phone, purse, a few make up essentials and maybe a pack of tissues 😁 And this one actually sold on the weekend! It's first market out, so I think it's going to be a popular one ✨

Part 3 Setting up the loom 💫 Threading 🧶 This process can take some time depending on how many ends (threads) you have. My warp has 464 ends which means I have to do 464 knots! As I said in the video I keep the same set up each time I weave so I can just tie the new warp to the old one, but if you were setting up from new then you would thread the ends through the heddles in a set pattern 😁 And then it's all pulled through the heddles and the reed at the front ready to tie on and weave 😊

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT ✨ Thought I'd share the Box Bag with you, this one is in the WHN colourway. I designed this bag as a toiletry bag, so made sure it was long and wide enough to fit an electric toothbrush in. 🪥 But that also means it's great for a make up bag as it can fit longer bottles or brushes. 💄 And it can be used as a project bag as it fits knitting needles, crochet hooks etc. 🧵🧶 I love the 3D box shape it has and the handy carry handle is just perfect to quick grab you stuff and run 😁

But it does just show how long a process weaving is 😁 So far this has probably taken me atleast a day so like 5 hours, and of course I haven't even started weaving yet! PART 1 ✨ SETTING UP THE LOOM WARP WINDING Thank you to those who said yes to me sharing the process of setting up the loom, so here is part 1 ☺️ This is the warp winding stage, before you even use the loom! This is where you wind the warp threads to prepare them to go into the loom 😁 If you have any questions or just interested in chatting about weaving then please message me for a chat, I'd love to hear from you ☺️

BAG COMMISSION 💫 Here's a cute bag commission I did recently ☺️ a smaller version of the larger tote bags, the customer wanted to use it for their lunch bag! I'm going to make more large and medium sizes of this style for my upcoming markets, think they are so sweet and the perfect tote bag size for all your nick naks 😁

COIN PURSES 💫 I had a delivery of coin purses from @handmadebynikita3 on Wednesday 😁 We are stocking up ready for the autumn/winter markets! I love these, the shape is so sweet and they fit coins and cards but could also be used for your little trinkets like jewelry or keep safes ☺️

Hello! Been a while! I've got some stories explaining what I've been up too if you want to check them out ☺️ I'm just here weaving away, trying to weave a large amount of each colourway to restock 😁 The C word is crippling up more now 🎄 So trying to make sure I am organised and sticking to my plans! Hope you are all okay and hoping to show up on here more now 😁

It's been a while since I've posted about the inspiration behind my weaves! 💫 Here is the WITCHES HEAD NEBULA, believed to be an ancient supernova remnant. 🌌 This was the first colourway I designed in the Space Collection, although the first fabric did look a little different to this one as I redesigned it over a year ago! This has recently shown to be the most popular colourway I sell! Is it your favourite? ☺️

A few little close ups from @nottm_contemp @shop.contemporary Summer Craft Fair a few weeks ago! A lot of other traders will probably agree with this, we are never happy with our set ups! Haha I've changed mine so much over the years, but this one I was quite pleased with! 😁 Think there will only be a few changes when the winter markets come, one being I need a rail to hang the snoods on! ☺️

I'm back from a lovely weekend holiday in Llandudno with my family, this is the view from the holiday homes kitchen window ☺️ It's such a lovely place and the weather turned out beautiful for us, we had such a lovely time! Now I'm ready to get back to work though, I've got a look to set up and then lots of weaving to do 😁 My stock is quite low again (thank you all who have been ordering from me recently ☺️) Especially the WHN that has become a firm favourite atm and I am nearly out of all stock of it! My next markets aren't until September now so you will see me working away on stocking up til then and possibly opening pre orders around then too 😁 Have a lovely weekend all!

CUSHIONS ✨ I don't seem to share my cushions that often! This is a bespoke cushion made from off cuts, which you may recognise inspired the recent bag commission I did! I love cushions, you can't have too many right?! My sofa and bed is full of them and yes I do take them off and out then back on each day! And it's worth it 😁

HELLO ✨ Thought I'd say hello from the loom 😊 My plans at the moment are to weave all three colourways ready for any pre order sales and to restock for markets. I'm currently applying for all the markets for the year, with the first one potentially being in April. As soon as I have got them all sorted I'll put a post out with all the dates 😁 I've recently done a bag commission and it went so well that I'm thinking of stocking some! They would be one off pieces and maybe only available in person at markets! Here's my second loom (still thinking of a name) All set up in a double cloth warp, which means I can weave two cloths on top of each other and when the fabric comes off the loom it folds out to double the size 😁 I'm currently weaving bow ties on this, as I'd like to focus on these more and get them into the wedding and events industry 😁 I'm looking at wedding fairs atm and other promotional materials, I want people to commission these for weddings, proms, cruises, or any dress up occasion 😊 it's very exciting! So keep a look out for this new collection of bow ties soon and where they will take me! 🎀

CREATIVITY ✨ The theme this week with @joyofindiemarketuk is creativity. I have always been creative, it's all I ever did or wanted to do was create! I just knew that my hands worked this way and that whatever textiles related thing I picked up I could just do it 😁 I love textiles, the textures, colours and tactility of it all. I can't say no or throw away any price of fabric or yarn! 😁 Now, weaving is my passion and my hands just know what they are doing, they know the next pattern or colour and I love the fluidity of it all 😁

SNOODS! ✨ Available in all three colourways, these snoods are sooo soft and warm because of the super soft fleece lining and the cost woven lambswool fabric! Product spotlight ✨ The mini duffle bag in the Witches Head Nebula fabric 🌌 This was the first handbag I sold when I brought out the new ones, the customer was drawn to it straight away at the start of a fair and it was the only one I had! More will be coming soon, ready for my winter markets 😁

Just me weaving! Super fast! 😁 It can sometimes feel this fast when I get into a rhythm although unfortunately it never is haha!

What happens when the fabric comes off the loom! ✨ This part is my favourite because I finally get to see all the fabric I have woven, but of course it doesn't happen very often! So the fabric is then washed to get all the oils out of the yarn from manufacturing and fluffs up the fibres to make it super soft! 😊 And then a nice natural dry (if the weather allows) outside 😁 I am always telling people to have a feel of the fabric because it really is softer than it looks and I always get that surprise expression from people when they realise 😁

A lovely long reel of 'most' of the weaving and making process! 😁 There is quite a few steps with weaving, even before you actually start to weave!! But that's what I love about it, that I use my hands, a little machine and some cones of yarn to produce fabric that is then made into products people can use!! It's magical ✨

All of course are amazing but I am really looking forward to lustre 😁 I've been working hard these last few months to get my stock levels ready for these markets, and bring out lots of new products and work on my set up so I really hope it all pays off 😊 Hope to see as many of you there as I can! I've been weaving a big batch of all three of my colourways recently! 😁 I think this is the most fabric I've had on the loom at one time! 💫 Really can't wait to wind it all off and show you, and finally make a big batch of snoods ready for the winter markets and to put on my website 😊

Here's my range of patchwork items! 🧶 I just can't throw away any piece of my woven fabric, especially after how long it takes to make! So I use all those pieces with the velvet off cuts to create unique, one off pieces like these 😁 There's the lavender bags🪻 which I dry myself from the lavender in my garden! There is cute little earrings, and at the end the tote bags with individual patchwork pieces and a hidden pocket 😊 I love making these patchworks and even thinking of making some pouches with them! What do you think?? 😁

Product spotlight ✨ the Circle Handbag 💫 I love this shape, such a unique style and the front pocket is handy for valuable items such as keys 😁

Sometimes I find myself just walking into my studio and looking at the fabric I have made on the loom 😊 It really is a labour of love and quite magical that I make fabric some just yarn 🧶😁

What would you put in this pouch? I use a lot of these for knitting projects, nail polishes, valuables in my handbag and my make up! So many uses 😊

The full video of my weaving (speedy) Had a little dance at the start, can't remember the song that was playing now but it was a favourite 😁 I'm currently weaving a few metres of each of my colourways to make snoods and top up some products that have recently sold out! 😊

Pencil cases / glasses cases 😊 I recently realised that these cases fit a pair of glasses in them perfectly! And what a cute shape for a glasses case, I'm thinking they will make a unique gift 🎁

The reality of weaving! 🧶 I know a lot of makers post speed up versions of them making, cause it looks better and you can show more of the process but I also think it's important to show the real speed! 😁 As you can see in this video, it really does take time to weave a few metres of fabric which I can only make a handful of products from sometimes! It's definitely a labor of love 😊

My latest market @the_garage_chilwell 😁 My stall has really changed over this year, and I am now just tweaking it ready for the Christmas markets! I'm so pleased with where I have come from and how I have developed my stand depending on the products ☺️ Lots of handmade displays have been made by me and @matt__wadge and lots of painting too! 😁

POUCHES 💫🎁 Multi purpose and super soft! These pouches would make a cute gift 🎁 They also have matching velvet bottoms to go with each colourways 😁

These small pouches are such a cute shape, I love that they are oval instead of square ☺️ They could be used for money, your mirror and lipstick, hair clips and bobbles or anything small and valuable 😁 a great little gift 🎁

I recently had a delivery from @handmadebynikita3 of all the products in the STAR CARINAE 💫 So here is the box bag! I don't think it's a secret that I love these, such a unique shape and the velvet bottoms give them an interesting touch ☺️

Sometimes I really should stop weaving cause I can just tell I'm tired but when there's such a little bit to go to finish how can you stop!! Weaving can be really therapeutic when you get into a rhythm but sometimes I just can't and so I have to do something else ☺️

This is me 😁 In my spare room, where all the weaving magic happens! 💫 I'm so grateful to have this little room to house all my weaving stuff (there's a lot!) Of course one day I would love a workshop for more looms but I have to remember where I have come from (the kitchen table) and be grateful for what I do have now ☺️

The OLD SUPERNOVAE has been getting a lot of attention on here recently so here's the WITCHES HEAD NEBULA 💫☺️ This bag was inspired by a duffle bag! I love the round side and how much you can fit in them so I created a smaller version for a handbag 😁 With two sets of handles it's so versatile, it can be worn over the body and you can quickly grab the small handles when you're in a rush! What do you think? Do you like this style?
